The 82nd Golden Globes took place last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.
As the first major award show of the year and one of the most anticipated, this year’s Golden Globes celebrated a diverse array of talent and productions. Notably, there was a growing recognition of LGBTQIA+ talent in the entertainment industry. From Emilia Pérez to Baby Reindeer to Wicked, the Gaye community did not disappoint!
Here are the winners of the 2025 Golden Globes:
Emilia Pérez: a musical centering on Mexican cartel lord Juan “Manitas” Del Monte later Emilia Pérez (Karla Sofía Gascón) who enlists lawyer Rita Castro (Zoe Saldaña) to help fake her death and secretly transition into her true self as a woman.

Emilia Pérez dominated the Golden Globes, taking home four awards as the most nominated work at the Golden Globes. Having already won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival, film co-star Karla Sofía Gascón made history as the first transgender woman nominated in a film category at the Golden Globes. Gascón delivered a powerful speech advocating for the trans community.
"You can put us in jail. You can beat us up, but you never can take away our soul, our resistance, our identity", she declared. She continued, "And I want to say to you: raise your voice. I am who I am, not who you want."
Another historic moment took place when Gascón's fellow co-star, Zoe Saldaña took home her first ever Golden Globe marking her first ever nomination as well. In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Saldaña expressed gratitude to the women who contributed to bringing Emilia Pérez to life. Saldaña also paid tribute to Gascón, honoring her as the only person who could have portrayed Emilia Pérez.
Wicked: a film adaptation of the legendary stage musical of the same name loosely based on the 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. The story follows the evolving friendship between Elphaba Thropp (Cynthia Erivo), a young woman with green skin, and Galinda Upland, an elite and popular student as they navigate life at Shiz University in the magical land of Oz.

Baby Reindeer: based on real life events, this miniseries focuses on an unlucky comedian (Richard Gadd) who finds himself relentlessly stalked by Martha (Jessica Gunning), a woman whose obsession quickly becomes uncontrollable.
