Actor Christian Keyes, best known for his roles in Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Saints & Sinners and The Man in 3B, sat down with Claudia Jordan on Fox Soul's segment "Out Loud with Claudia Jordan" to explain why he created a video in 2018 asking gay men to stop DM'ing him.
During the interview, Claudia ask him to explain more about the types of DMs he receives, particularly from men. Christian then mentions the video he previously made and further claims he originally made the video because a man messaged him saying, "You're so sexy. I want to have a threesome with you and your son."
We previously reported that Christian took to his Instagram back in December of 2018 to say, "Gentleman let's not be in the comment section with the eggplant emojis and you know the sexual comments, I am not a fan of that. I appreciate you supporting my work but lets not be in the DM talking about 'Hey sexy, what's up? What's good?" Absolutely nothing. Again, if I respect your truth, respect mine."
His video soon went viral, causing most to agree with his stance on not wanting to receive inappropriate messages from gay men, and a few claimed he was homophobic, stating he didn't have to make a big deal because it comes with the territory of being an attractive celebrity.
But with his most recent explanation of what actually happened, people are coming to his defense.
"Had somebody done that in person, and said that vile thing, 'I want to have a threesome with you and your son' somebody would have to come bail me out. So that's why I put the video out. You talking about my 15 year old son, you nasty mother..."
It's unfortunate that Keyes had to endure backlash for expressing his concerns about men sending him inappropriate messages, but perhaps if he had said this before it may have tamed the wild critics. #Gayes, what are your thoughts?
