Gayes, let’s talk! BET has announced that on Saturday, May 24, 2025, during DC Black Pride in Washington, D.C., they will host their 3rd Annual Black + Iconic Soirée!
A night of power and pride, the Soirée will be uplifting and honoring the rich intersectionality of the Black and LGBTQ+ communities, spotlighting trailblazers who have made transformative contributions across culture, advocacy, and the entertainment industry.
This year’s event will be hosted by the acclaimed television host and renowned journalist Scott Evans, who will bring his signature, charisma, and insight into the evening’s celebration. The soirée will spotlight an extraordinary group of honorees whose hard work and dedication continue to shape the culture and drive meaningful global changes.
Kicking things off, the dynamic Bob the Drag Queen—entertainer, author, actor, and of course the season 8 winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race"—will be honored with the Culture Trailblazer Award. Next is trans activist, media personality and Co-Founder of the Kaleido Collective, Ashlee Marie Preston, who will be honored with the Creative Visionary Award.
Coming through with boldness, brilliance, and beauty—our girl Hope Giselle, a renowned trans activist and author, will be honored with the Emerging Leader Award. Next, we celebrate Ashlee Davis, J.D., Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Ancestry, who will receive the Ancestry for Executive Realness Award.
Rounding out the honorees, Kierra Johnson, President of the National LGBT Task Force, will be honored with the Active Advocate Award.
BET Black + Iconic Soirée brings together luminaries, advocates, and trailblazers for an evening dedicated to empowerment, celebration, and collective progress. This annual gathering highlights incredible individuals embodying the change the world needs so deeply.
