Renowned artists Billy Porter, Yemi Alade, and Omawumi will headline the highly anticipated Global Black Pride Atlanta festival on August 31, 2024.
Founded by Global Black Gay Men Connect (GBGMC) in 2020, Global Black Pride is the first organization of its kind to assemble Black, LGBTQIA+ communities from across the world. The purpose of Global Black Pride is to establish spaces that uplift and empower individuals through cultural, educational, and social programs.
Billy Porter, a multifaceted talent who has earned an Emmy, Grammy, and three Tony awards, is celebrated for his dedicated activism within the LGBTQIA+ community as well as his bold fashion statements.
As an Emmy Award winning actor for his standout role as Pray Tell in Pose and Tony Award winning performer for Kinky Boots, Porter is revered for his powerful performances and commitment to social justice, establishing him as an influential figure in entertainment.
This year, Billy Porter will wrap up his "Summer of Prides" with Global Black Pride, delivering a grand finale to what has been an extraordinary Pride celebration. Prepare for an outstanding event as Billy Porter continues his record as a champion for LGBTQIA+ rights and safety worldwide.
Yemi Alade, acclaimed as the "Queen of Afropop" and "Mama Africa", is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, and activist. Alade has cemented herself as a dominant force in the African music scene with hit records such as "Johnny" and her remarkable ability to sing in a diverse range of languages, including English, Yoruba, Igbo, French, and Swahili.
Alade has won several international awards including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best Female, Headies Award for Best Performer, and BET Awards nominations for Best International Act. In addition to her impressive accolades, she secured a place in the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list.
Throughout her extensive music career, Alade has collaborated with prominent global artists such as Beyoncé for Black is King including Spice, Rick Ross, Angélique Kidjo, and Sauti Sol.
As a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Alade uses her platform to address inequality by promoting gender equality and raising awareness about the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and girls.
Omawumi, a Nigerian singer and actress, rose to prominence as a runner up on "West African Idols" in 2007. Her blend of Afro-pop, soul, and R&B, combined with her advocacy for women's rights, education, and health, has garnered her respect both within entertainment industry and beyond.

Themed "Love and Legacy", Global Black Pride 2024 will feature a two-day conference, a global village, a film festival, and a two-day music festival, offering a platform for dialogue, cultural expression, and entertainment at various venues throughout Atlanta.

Atlanta Black Pride Weekend (ABPW) is one of the largest and most influential Black Pride celebrations in Atlanta, attracting thousands of attendees from across the globe. The weekend long event features a variety of activities, including concerts, festivals, and social gatherings, providing a vibrant platform for education, advocacy, and entertainment.
