Janet Mock - transgender rights activist bestselling author and television writer/director - has officially filed for divorce from her husband Aaron Tredwell of three years. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Mock filed divorce documents on Wednesday, Feb. 20th, citing irreconcilable differences for the split.
“Aaron and I have decided to part. I’m grateful for the years we shared and will look back on them fondly. I appreciate your well wishes as we continue onward separately with enduring reverence,” Mock shared in an exclusive statement to Out.
Mock and Tredwell met in 2009 and five years later Tredwell proposed in Mock's New York City apartment. They later married on Nov. 5th, 2015 in Hale Koa, a private estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Laie, Hawaii, according to Brides.com.
Despite Janet's recent motion for divorce, the couple seems to be in good graces with each other. We are confident that Janet will continue to shine and continue to be a perfect example for trans women across the globe.
