Billionaire rapper and business mogul Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has officially entered the marijuana industry after launching his own premium cannabis brand, Monogram, on Thursday (Dec. 10).

The product line retails between $40 and $70, and is described as light, medium and heavy of assorted cannabis strains. The strains are available in pre-rolled cigars, joints and tins of cannabis flower.

In a statement obtained by CNBC, Jay-Z said his vision for the brand is “cannabis redefined.”

“Cannabis has been around for thousands of years, yet it is still an industry whose legacy of skilled craftsmanship is often overlooked,” he said. “I created Monogram to give cannabis the respect it deserves by showcasing the tremendous hard work, time and care that go into crafting a superior smoke. Monogram products are next level when it comes to quality and consistency and we’re just getting started.”

Patrik-Ian Polk, creator and director of "Noah's Arc", the first and only cable television scripted series to date to center a group of Black gay men, received a special care package from Jay Z himself with exclusive samples of his new line.

Polk took to Instagram to thank Jay Z, in which he shared photos of the Monogram box he received.

"Thanks Jay Z & @monogramcompany for the wonderful samples of your new cannabis line! I look forward to using it in good health."

In the comment section of the post, Emmy award comedian Travon Free replied, "Damn I gotta step my influencer game up."

Polk replied, " @travon I don't know at what point I became an influencer but if this is the kind of shit you get, I will be that every day all day LOL".

We think definitely agree that you should Mr. Polk. It's great to see that Jay Z is recognizing living icons in the LGBT community. #Gayes, are you anxious to get your hands on Jay Z's new cannabis line?
