Joe Biden has tailored his campaign to target marginalized groups like women, but more specifically queer women. On his campaign site, "Agenda for Women" Biden states that he will "make sure women's issues will remain in the forefront of policy efforts." This is to include the protection of rights and "unique needs" of queer women. Biden's campaign's somewhat addresses the "unique needs" he mentions.

Biden did specify that he would improve healthcare for LGBT women. This would include reinstating the protections that were taken away during Trump's presidency, care coverage for transitions and banning of conversion-therapy.

The section states: "The Obama-Biden Administration ensured that insurance companies could no longer increase premiums merely due to someone’s gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. But President Trump rolled back these basic health care protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. As President, Biden will defend the rights of all people — regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity — to have access to quality, affordable health care free from discrimination. He will also ensure coverage for comprehensive care, including covering care related to transitioning such as gender confirmation surgery. In addition, he will ban so-called “conversion therapy.”"

Biden continues with saying his campaign will address same sex violence and trans violence - especially for women of color. He promises to include sexual orientation and gender identity nondiscrimination protections in the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act reauthorization, permanent funding for the National LGBTQ Institute on IPV to prevent and address LGBTQ+ intimate partner violence, and address violence against trans women of color by making murder prosecutions a priority.

The violence and discrimination of queer women definitely need to be addressed but these promises seem almost too good to believe. Not only does Biden promise these things but he says that he will make an enactment of the Equality Act within the FIRST 100 DAYS.

As with all political campaigns, there are many promises to please the masses. The question is, do we believe in them? Take some screenshots #gayes and start a countdown because we could use a president who keeps his promises.
