OnlyFans to Ban Sexually Explicit Content After Credit Card Companies Make Strict Policy Changes

The Only Fans news is only getting worse. The subscription site that is known for its adult content, announced this week that it will block sexually explicit photos and videos starting October 1st.

According to BBC News, OnlyFans made the change after being pressured from banking partners and payout providers for an age requirement. The online platform grew during the pandemic and now has over 130 million users.

But come Oct 1st, Only Fans users won’t be showing explicit content for long term purposes.

"In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines.”

In July, OnlyFans first monthly transparency report said that it deactivated 15 OnlyFans accounts after finding indecent images of children on those accounts.

According to CNN, bank providers like Mastercard mentioned new requirements after that mishap.

“The banks that connect merchants to our network will need to certify the seller…Platforms would be required to verify the age and identity of those who were posting and who were depicted in online porn and would have to have a process to review adult content before it is posted.”

Now many workers of the site whose income was solely based on subscriptions feel as though OnlyFans made the wrong choice. Including sex worker, Indica Flower.

“I have paid you guys $120,000 in the last 24 months. That’s just me. One person. One sex worker. You guys have made so much money off of us. F*CK YOU. Hope you go bankrupt so the owners and their families can experience what your are doing to so many sexworker’s families”

For users who love explicit content, OnlyFans set a minimum subscription price of $4.99 per month and a maximum limit of $49.99 per month.

Creators & sex workers can also charge a minimum of $5 for tips or paid private messages. In return for hosting the material for its workers, OnlyFans takes a 20% share of all payments.

This payment is also collected from celebrities who joined the sit over the pass year. Some Influencers like Blak Chyna with her “Foot Freak Monday’s” , Chris Brown, Trey Songz and rapper Cardi B with a monthly subscriptions at $4.99.

With that being said, the easy access to create an OnlyFans made it convenient for under age children & predators to take full advantage .

Despite the negative comments, On Friday OnlyFans went to Twitter to mention their gratitude & transitioning period, within the company saying,

“…We are working around the clock to come up with solutions. #SexWorkIsWork

Let’s hope before Oct 1st, OnlyFans can come up with a better solution than blurring out the real adults who are legal enough to make content, but until then sign up before it’s too late!
