Former 2018 gubernatorial hopeful Andrew Gillum is a hot topic today. According to the Miami Herald, police were called to Mondrian South Beach Friday morning. There they found paramedics treating 30 year old Travis Dyson for what appeared to be a heart attack. Gillum was also there along with another man named Aldo Mejias.

Gillum was not arrested and police state he was 'too intoxicated' to answer any questions. Upon searching the room, they found three clear plastic bags, all of which they suspect contained crystal meth. Gillum issued a statement Friday afternoon:

"I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends. While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement."

Mejias told police he gave his credit card information to Dyson so he could rent the room. When he arrived, Dyson and Gillum were both inebriated. After Dyson let Majias into the room, he collapsed, and said he was having trouble breathing. He then vomited and collapsed again. While Mejias began chest compressions and called paramedics, Gillum was in the bathroom vomiting.

The other two men weren't arrested either. “At this time the incident is not being investigated as a criminal matter,” a Miami Beach police spokesman wrote in an email to the Miami Herald when he released a copy of the police report.

Gillum concluded his statement by saying he's going to "spend the next few weeks with my family and [would] appreciate privacy during this time.”

Right wing political commentator Candace Owens took to Twitter to discuss the situation. In a Tweet that included the police report, Owens said, "Removing one page of report that had @AndrewGillum’s personal address listed which was wasn’t my intent— but YES— BREAKING: Democrat Andrew Gillum was involved in a crystal meth overdose incident last night in a Miami hotel. Orgy suspected, but unconfirmed."

She went on to say, "Here is the last page of the report which sites the crystal meth. Guess Florida made the right move electing Governor Desantis. I am told @AndrewGillum and his buddies were naked when cops arrived, which is the reason a sex orgy is suspected, but not confirmed."

So #Gayes what are your thoughts? Do you think Candace's claims hold water or is she just doing troll business as usual?
