Our favorite material girl took over New York Fashion Week in true Santana style!
Florida-bred rapper and viral sensation Saucy Santana took to Instagram to post a barrage of fashion-filled flicks as he pumped through NYC for fashion week. The rapper was sighted at a number of shows, hanging with rappers Dream Doll and Flo Milli.
Everything from Rick Owens platforms to full-out all leather Diesel was in play as Santana attended his first New York Fashion Week.
Perhaps the highlight of the week, was Santana's front-row shot at the LaQuan Smith FW 22 show. Held at Down Town Association, the rapper sat front-row between LaLa Anthony and Coi Leroy for LaQuan's brand new collection.
Smith sent an alluring, sexy fall collection down the runway, laden with deep-V necklines, sexy cutout gowns, and cropped leather bombers. The collection is sexy, feminine, unapologetic and for the woman who knows what she's doing when she gets dressed.
Outside of Kanye West's pending ex-bae Julia Fox opening the show, the highlight perhaps belonged to Saucy Santana's honor. The moment to remember would be the models strutting the runway to his viral hit "Material Girls". A moment the rapper never expected, but clearly was so honored by.
Santana posted clips of his song being played and wrote on Instagram "Kinda fighting back tears! So proud of myself! I GAGGED from the crowd reaction when the models walked to "Material Girl"...
LaQuan Smith has historically been able to merge powerful moments of culture and fashion together. This moment is no different, but is yet unique in the sense that two powerhouse queer black men have merged their art in a beautiful way that compliments everything that is black, femme and gay!
Later in the evening, Santana hosted and performed at LaQuan's afterparty at 60 Pine Street in the financial district in Manhattan.
