As singer Avery Wilson celebrated his 25th birthday, he wanted to get a few things off his chest. On Saturday the contestant from Season 3 of "The Voice" tweeted to fans that he's bisexual (sexually attracted to both men and women). Even though fans assumed that Wilson was gay, he wanted to set the record straight publicly for himself. He then took it to Instagram to express more relief of coming out.
Even though fans assumed that Wilson was gay, he wanted to set the record straight publicly for himself. He then took it to his Instagram, @averywilson, to express more relief of coming out.. In the note, Wilson shared that to him, life is about growth, evolving, achieving goals, and most importantly, love and happiness.
The speculations of his sexuality started back in 2018 when Avery came out with his new 5-song project called FYI. His song "Dollar Bill" first verse sparked fans attention. The lyrics wrote, "Caught myself running away from who I really was for you, Just a young carefree man trying to have his fun," and how he knew, "that voice in my head saying watch out what you wish for cause you might not be prepared."
Before his debut album, Wilson appeared on season 3 of "The Voice" when he was just 16 years old. He sang with Cee Lo Green and made it to the next round but was sent home in 2012 after he performed Yeah 3x. He soon returned to "The Voice" Season 8 in 2015 to sing "If I Have To." Since then he has performed at the B.E.T Awards, signed a deal with RCA Records, and can be seen on social media singing covers of his favorite artists.
According to an interview with BET, when asked if he will explore other career opportunities, Wilson admitted to his interest in becoming an actor. He ended by stating that he's fearless. Whether it's in being multi-talented or owning up to his sexuality.
