Transgender Comedian Daphne Dorman Commits Suicide After Dave Chappelle's Shoutout

Gayes, let's all send our prayers to Daphne Dorman who committed suicide at the age of 44. The transgender comedian was a trans rights activist, had a twelve year TV career and was Director of Operations at the Actors Center of Philadelphia among other things.

Just before her death, Daphne made a post acknowledging the shout out she received from Dave Chappelle's Netflix Special Sticks and Stones.

“Yeah, you know, it’s just that moment when you realize that after Dave Chappelle talks about meeting you in the secret ending of his new Netflix special, you see your photo appear immediately after Barack Obama‘s photo in the credits,”

This past week Daphne Dorman posted what looks like a "goodbye" note on her Instagram.

Daphne's sister commented on Daphne's goodbye post saying: “It is with great sadness and despair to hand out this information. Sweet, sweet Daphne . I so wish we could all have helped you through your darkness. We’ll always love you, fly high sweet angel."

The death of the 44 year old woman was confirmed by the San Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives. The post read: We are saddened to learn about of loss of Daphne Dorman today who was a beloved community member.

In response to her death a trust fund has been set to take care of her young daughter. The fund only asked for a 1,000$ and has so far raised 6,000$.
