Fall fashion is about pushing the limits in the lush, crisp air. Our winter style forecast category is a homage to the 70s, 80s and the 90s. Here are some 2019's fall-winter fashion trends straight off the runway.
Teeny Weeny Handbags
Does Size Really Matter? When it comes to handbags that is. Well, technically not! A lot of designers such as Brandon Maxwell, Jacquemus and Alexander McQueen have stolen every woman's key fashion accessory and minimized it. The best way to wear the TWHB (teeny weeny handbag) is to combine two of these bags together.
Feathers & Fur
Let the featuers and fur fly! Instead of sporting just one, why not rock them together. Designers like Prabal Gurung have chosen to take the lighter path and chose lighter feathers for his AW19 collection instead of heavy faux fur & feathers. Fall fashion is all about mixing and matching and dressing in layers.
Seductive in Satin
Turn up the heat just a little bit during the fall months with a sexy satin nighty that you can wear for a night on the town. Or try wearing a satin pantsuit that can be worn out. This was a trend that was huge in the 90s from Calvin Klein's silk dress. Versace is still continuing on to showcase their signature silk dress along with designers like off-white, & Brandon Maxwell. Who says you can't take a satin bustier with a nice pencil skirt.
Off to the Trenches
A trench coat is for everyone, don't just think of the 90s and The Matrix, designers like Chanel have now taken everyone's signature favorite fashion statement coat and remixed it for 2019 with an extra-long extended hem.
Haute Hats
When we think of hats we think of Grace Jones or Cleopatra Jones. The 70s have now returned with this funky fresh remix from designer Tom Ford. Tom Ford his taken a 70s fashion staple and has now put his own retro spin on it, giving it a definite 70s feel, which is perfect for the fall winter months.
Dripping in Gold
Gold has been around since the ancient times. Designers like Jeremy Scott for Moschino have used it in his AW 19/20 collection. Gold makes you feel regal. And we know everyone wants to feel like royalty. When you dress in Couture fashion include gold into your wardrobe for the fall winter months, perhaps use some leather for a biker chick or biker guy feel.
Structured Shoulders
Olivier Rousteing for Balmain & other designers like Balenciaga have brought back the 80s on the runway for autumn/winter 2019. The 80s was known for so much, shoulder pads, neon prints, big hair and leotards, but when we think of the 80s, we think Diahann Carroll & her character, Dominique Deveraux on the hit show Dynasty.
Playing with Plaids
When we think of plaids, we think of school uniforms with cardigans. Designers like
Dior and Chanel have taken plaid and remixed it on a whole nother level. A trend u
can also see being worn off the runway in the boardroom.
