The SpeakOut Foundation held its inaugural Black-Tie Gala, “I AM Awards" in the heart of Washington D.C. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the renowned Hamilton Hotel. This coveted evening was hosted by legendary actress, Vivica A. Fox, and Los Angeles-based TV personality, J’Lamar.
The spectacular evening featured a performance by singer Avery Wilson and special appearances by actress Amiyah Scott, international ballroom icon Jack Mizrahi, and comedian Sampson McCormick – and sounds by DJ Jash Jay.
The evening consisted of honoring achievements of LGBTQ+ members and allies who have moved the community forward. Legendary actor Jensen Atwood who played Wade from the culturally groundbreaking TV series "Noah's Arc" received the Alliance Award for his long-time allyship to the community.
In addition, TV and film producer, national political commentator, New York Times best-selling author and former White House aide to President Bill Clinton, Keith Boykin rightfully received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Founded by Antonio Driver, SpeakOut, Inc. is a nonprofit community engagement organization representing more than 6,000 same-gender-loving (SGL) men and women of color.
